The Image
The ascent up to Side Pike can sometimes be a casual stroll. However, on this morning I had decided to park in the Old Dungeon Ghyll car park, and walk up from the valley below. I wanted to stretch my legs and get some exercise in, and that I certainly did!
The views from the top of Side Pike and just underneath it are some of Lakelands' finest views, especially when considering the relatively low amount of effort it takes to get up there. The views of the Langdale Pikes and Mickleden Valley are just spectacular!
I took this photograph as I was making my way back down. It had been somewhat of a tough morning, after struggling to find compositions due to being too early in the season for heather. Then I came across this little patch of heather with part of the old stone wall anchoring the foreground. I’ve walked past it so many times in the past, and I’ve never really thought anything of it, but the sunlight was illuminating the heather which just instantly caught my eye. It’s sods law that once I had setup my tripod and framed my composition the sun went behind the clouds and I lost the foreground light. Thankfully, I didn’t have to wait too long for the light to return!

The Canvas

Photographs are printed onto heavyweight canvas using genuine HP Vivera inks and state of the art printing technology. The canvas is then professionally laminated for ultimate protection and longevity; creating a scratch proof surface with high UV protection. The lamination process also adds a beautiful sheen to the canvas surface, ensuring superb image quality and vibrant colours! The canvas material is then stretched onto knot-free European pine frames using precise tensioning techniques. This not only gives the canvas a premium look and feel but also adds longevity to the artwork; stopping it from sagging and wrinkling over time.
Canvas Thickness
20mm Slim - a great value option consisting of a 20mm European pine fixed frame that is precision cut, mitred and then underpinned providing a strong robust frame. No compromise on quality; perfect for interior simplicity!
38mm Premium - A luxurious thick exhibition style of frame, for those who want the canvas to really stand out in the room. Consisting of a 38mm deep European pine frame with real wooden wedged corners for a perfectly tensioned canvas; achieving a high quality contemporary finish. The galvanised staples are taped for a neat appearance and protection of your walls.
Canvas Edge Finish
There are three options for your edge finish; wrapped, mirrored or mirrored Blur.
Wrapped - The image will be 'wrapped' around all edges of the frame; a more aesthetically pleasing finish but will result in a small part of the image being lost.
Mirrored - Probably the most popular option, the image will be 'mirrored' at the left, right, top and bottom edges, maintaining the full image on the front of the canvas.
Mirrored Blur - The same as mirrored but with a blur applied.

Please make sure that you have selected the correct size as returns cannot be accepted on account of the wrong size being ordered. In the unlikely event of a canvas arriving damaged, I will arrange for a replacement to be sent, free of charge.
The quality of the preview images has been reduced for web purposes. The image quality of the end product will be much higher.
