Lake District Canvas - Castlerigg Stone Circle - Keswick - Summer Photography

A lovely summer morning spent at Castlerigg Stone Circle in June of 2026! It’s not uncommon for this location to be busy, and rightly so as it’s a stunning landmark with even more stunning views looking over to Blencathra and The Helvellyn Range. However, with sunrise being at around 4:45am in the month of June, you can expect not to see many people. Just before sunrise, I was joined by a lovely lady and her two dogs, which gave me quite the fright when one of them unexpectedly began to lick the back of my leg. Her response to me jumping out of my skin; ‘that’s a pretty big mosquito’ or something along them lines. After a good laugh about the situation, we spent a good hour or so admiring the colours of the landscape change as the sun came over the horizon and then went our separate ways. Landscape photography can definitely be a solitary activity, but it is nice every now and again to share a moment of mutual appreciation for nature with a complete stranger!

My canvases are produced by an award-winning print studio, who have specialised in the canvas industry for over 25 years. I have worked with this company for over 10 years, producing my work for both myself and many satisfied clients up and down the country!  

Photographs are printed onto heavyweight canvas using genuine HP Vivera inks and state of the art printing technology. The canvas is then professionally laminated for ultimate protection and longevity; creating a scratch proof surface with high UV protection. The lamination process also adds a beautiful sheen to the canvas surface, ensuring long-lasting vibrant colours with a luxurious visual aesthetic! The canvas material is then stretched onto knot-free European pine frames using precise tensioning techniques. This not only gives the canvas a premium look and feel but also adds longevity to the artwork; stopping it from sagging and wrinkling over time. 

20mm Slim - a great value option consisting of a 20mm European pine fixed frame that is precision cut, mitred and then underpinned providing a strong robust frame. The slim profile can work great for simplicity and minimalist decor. 

38mm Premium - A luxurious thick exhibition style of frame, for those who want the canvas to really stand out in the room. Consisting of a 38mm deep European pine frame with real wooden wedged corners for a perfectly tensioned canvas; achieving a high-quality contemporary finish. The galvanised staples are taped for a neat appearance and protection of your walls.   

There are three options for your edge finish; wrapped, mirrored or mirrored Blur.  

Wrapped - The image will be 'wrapped' around all edges of the frame; a more aesthetically pleasing finish but will result in a small part of the image being lost.  

Mirrored - Probably the most popular option, the image will be 'mirrored' at the left, right, top and bottom edges, maintaining the full image on the front of the canvas.  

Mirrored Blur - The same as mirrored but with a blur applied.

• Ultra fast production and shipping times - All orders are shipped within 24 hours (working days only) and usually delivered 1-2 working days after dispatch. Tracking numbers are always provided. 

• Canvases are carefully bubble wrapped and securely packaged for transit. 

• <<IMPORTANT>> Unfortunately, only canvases 36” and under on the longest side can be shipped to Northern Ireland. If an order is placed to any of these destinations that exceeds the size measurement, a refund will be issued. 

It may be possible to ship internationally, depending on the country. Where possible, I try to use reputable print suppliers based in other countries. This helps to keep costs down but also minimises my carbon footprint. Due to the nature of using different suppliers, prices will vary between different countries. Therefore, all international print orders will be quoted on an individual basis. Please contact me for a bespoke quote. 

• The quality of the preview images has been reduced for web purposes. The image quality of the end product will be much higher. 

• Selecting 'wrap' on 38mm thickness for edge finish may result in significant crop to image. Please contact me for more details 

• Unfortunately, only canvases 36” and under on the longest side can be shipped to Northern Ireland. If an order is placed to any of these destinations that exceeds the size measurement, a refund will be issued. 

• Please make sure you have selected the correct size and are happy with your choice, as refunds/exchanges cannot be given on account of this. In the rare and unfortunate event of an item arriving damaged, I will arrange for a replacement to be sent out, free of charge.
