The lake district photography

From as early as I can remember back when I began taking an interest in landscape photography, there were certain weather conditions which kept bringing me back out into the great outdoors; the breathtaking colours of both sunrise and sunset. The way that the early morning or late evening light would reflect off the cloud, producing vibrant colours in the sky and a quality of light which couldn’t be found at any other time of day. Life can be full of struggles, and I’ve certainly had my fair share of them. So, to me it makes sense that I would seek out moments in the landscape that are full of brightness and colour. Often, it has been my escape from various challenges that life has brought me.

I’ve spent the best part of a decade chasing these types of weather conditions, here in The Lake District. There have been many mornings and evenings where the weather hasn’t played ball and subsequently, I don’t come away with the photograph that I had hoped for. However, I never let this despair me as when you do finally get those perfect conditions, it's a great feeling of accomplishment! It’s the rarity of these beautiful moments that make them feel so special!

Here you will find my favourite photographs taken in those instances mentioned above. I invite you to take a few moments to appreciate the vibrant awe and splendor the Lake District has to offer. When for just a few moments in the day, the divine can spill into the natural world!

I highly recommend viewing these photographs on the largest displays possible for the most immersive experience. Unfortunately, small handheld devices aren't able to show the intricate details that my high-resolution cameras are able to capture.

All of these photographs are available to purchase as prints and ready to hang frames and canvas. You will be able to find a link at the bottom of each image description (once clicked for expanded view), which will take you to the relevant print listing.
