The Image

A fantastic sunrise on a spring morning up Helvellyn, overlooking Swirral Edge and Red Tarn. It had been a last-minute decision the evening beforehand, where after looking at the weather forecast it appeared it was going to pay off! Ordinarily, at this time of year I would have packed my tent and spent the night up there. However, with it being around 11pm, there was no time for that. Instead, I decided it would make more sense to wait and set off at 12:30am and pull an ‘all-nighter’. I’ve done many early starts over the past 10 years, but I’ve never seen the whole night though. It certainly felt a little strange making the hike in the dark when my body was expecting to be put to sleep! Strangely, the ascent was actually easier than I thought it was going to be. The descent, however, was the complete opposite! There were a few large rocks where the temptation to stop and have a power nap was very tempting. Thankfully, knowing I had a few decent shots on the camera gave me the motivation I needed to make it home for a very much needed nap!

The Canvas

I use an award-winning company to produce these spectacular canvases, who have specialised in the canvas industry for over 25 years. I have worked with them for over 10 years producing my work for both myself and many satisfied clients up and down the country! 

 

Photographs are printed onto heavyweight canvas using genuine HP Vivera inks and state of the art printing technology. The canvas is then professionally laminated for ultimate protection and longevity; creating a scratch proof surface with high UV protection. The lamination process also adds a beautiful sheen to the canvas surface, ensuring superb image quality and vibrant colours! The canvas material is then stretched onto knot-free European pine frames using precise tensioning techniques. This not only gives the canvas a premium look and feel but also adds longevity to the artwork; stopping it from sagging and wrinkling over time. 

 

Canvas Thickness

20mm Slim - a great value option consisting of a 20mm European pine fixed frame that is precision cut, mitred and then underpinned providing a strong robust frame. No compromise on quality; perfect for interior simplicity! 

 

38mm Premium - A luxurious thick exhibition style of frame, for those who want the canvas to really stand out in the room. Consisting of a 38mm deep European pine frame with real wooden wedged corners for a perfectly tensioned canvas; achieving a high quality contemporary finish. The galvanised staples are taped for a neat appearance and protection of your walls.  

 

Canvas Edge Finish

There are three options for your edge finish; wrapped, mirrored or mirrored Blur. 

 

Wrapped - The image will be 'wrapped' around all edges of the frame; a more aesthetically pleasing finish but will result in a small part of the image being lost. 

Mirrored - Probably the most popular option, the image will be 'mirrored' at the left, right, top and bottom edges, maintaining the full image on the front of the canvas. 

Mirrored Blur - The same as mirrored but with a blur applied. 

 

Postage 

<<IMPORTANT>> Unfortunately, only canvases 36” and under on the longest side can be shipped to Northern Ireland. If an order is placed to any of these destinations that exceeds the size measurement, a refund will be issued.
