The lake district photography
Calm mirror-like reflections, soft mist filled valleys & subtle pastel coloured landscapes. These are the dream conditions in which we enjoy a brief respite from the harsh weather conditions that shaped the dramatic landscape of The Lake District. Usually, these conditions happen early in the morning. When the majority of people are still asleep, the wonders of the natural world can put on a show of ethereal magic!
Here you will find my favourite photographs, taken in the calm weather conditions mentioned above. It’s not often these types of scenes present themselves, and this collection spans over 10 years of my often tireless efforts. Some of the photographs you see below are the result of meticulous planning and multiple re-attempts, whilst others are the result of reaction/ being in the moment.
I thank you for taking the time to view these photographs and invite you to take a few moments to appreciate the beauty of these special occasions captured in nature. I highly recommend viewing on larger screens and monitors, as this will give a greater impression of how these pictures were intended to be viewed. If you will, take a few moments to notice the intricacies. The intentional placement of subjects throughout the frame. Try to sense the visual flow of the shapes, textures and depth, leading your eye’s through the scene. Hopefully when viewing these photographs, you’ll be transcended into the emotion of joy and appreciation that I experienced when I pressed the shutter button!
